My Newest Obsession
I think I am in love…with a vampire. (I still love you too honey!) A vampire book series actually. This vampire series. I kept hearing about Twilight, this book (and movie) but didn’t put a lot of thought into. I thought it was just another teenage fad. But then I started seeing people my age reading it. And talking about it. All. The Time. After staring at the books in Target one too many times, and reading about a good internet friend of mine’s (Thanks a lot CPA Mom ;) ) obsession I bit.
I am not a fast reader by any stretch of the imagination. It usually takes me months to finish a book. Especially if the book is 500 or so pages. With the commitments of being a full time employee, wife, and mother I don’t have time to sit and read much. Reading has to be saved for bed time and by then I am usually too tired to read more than a few pages. So I figured I would pick up this book that everyone is talking about and it would keep me busy for awhile. That was my first mistake.
I bought the book early last week with the plans of reading it here and there when I had the time. I laid in bed and started reading…and couldn’t stop. By the end of the week I was halfway through it, which like I said above is a miracle in itself. The hubby and I had a night out of town without the kids and what did I do Saturday all day and night? Other than eating dinner, I was reading. And loving every minute of it. My husband thought (and still thinks) I am crazy. I finished it and started on the sequel, New Moon Sunday. I am now half way through that one as well.
I want to spend every waking hour reading to see what happens, but at the same time I don’t want to because I know that eventually the story will end. Then what will I do for my Edward fix? Ugh! I am pathetic I know. I am going at lunch today to pick up Eclipse and Breaking Dawn.
Who wants to go see Twilight November 21st with me?
